How TAG (NTAG213 TagTamper / 424 DNA TagTamper) Works

General Principle:

The TAG system uses RFID technology with a specialized Tag Tamper functionality to detect unauthorized package opening. It consists of two primary components:

  1. RFID Tag:
    • Main Antenna Loop: Transmits radio waves between the RFID reader and IC chip.
    • Detection Loop/Wire: A separate wire designed to break upon tampering. This break is permanently recorded by the IC chip.
  2. RFID Reader:
    • Reads data from the RFID tag, including the status of the detection wire.
    • Transmits the data to a server, where it can be analyzed and used for various applications.

Tag Tamper Functionality:

  • The detection wire is connected to the IC chip.
  • When the wire is broken, the chip stores a permanent record of the tampering event.
  • This information can be mirrored in ASCII code into the user memory and reported to the cloud for further analysis.

424 DNA TagTamper with AES-128 Cryptography:

  • Unique NFC Authentication Message (SUN): Each time the 424 DNA TagTamper is tapped with an NFC mobile or reader, it generates a unique SUN.
  • Secure Authentication:
    • The SUN is sent to a host server, along with a unique URL.
    • The host performs authentication using AES-128 cryptography.
    • Verification is returned to the reader/mobile device.
